About Us

It all begins with Pino's passion for Tuscan leather. An authentic love that in the Eighties drives him to enter the world of leather, initially with clothing, then naturally moving towards men's accessories and luggage.

It's a story of discovery and dedication, built alongside Florentine artisans and tanneries that preserve ancient knowledge. That early contract manufacturing becomes the workshop where technique and vision are refined, where the value of every stitch and the beauty of patiently tanned leather are learned.

Where Legacy Becomes Craft

With the arrival of Nicola and Francesca, Pino's children, the business transforms. The desire is born to create something of their own, a distinctive mark that speaks the language of tradition with a new voice. MICHELANGELO is born.

Our collections are designed to last over time. Classic lines that accompany the elegant man through his workdays and the sportier young man through his weekends. It's timeless fashion, the kind that doesn't chase seasons but moves through them. The kind that's passed down, that tells stories and becomes a faithful companion.

Each piece is designed to age gracefully, to acquire that patina that only real life can give. Because MICHELANGELO is not just an accessory: it's a connection to the Tuscan land, to the hands that created it, to the family that imagined it. It's a small bridge between generations, where a father's passion becomes his children's legacy.

Research

The best ideas are born from listening. Our agents, our customers are our primary collaborators: it's from dialogue with them that new models and collections take shape. The tanneries accompany us on this path of continuous evolution, presenting us with new materials, new accessories, new combinations.

Each collection is the result of this fertile exchange, of this patient research that is never satisfied. Because MICHELANGELO is tradition looking forward, it's craftsmanship that knows how to innovate without betraying its roots

QUALITY AND WORKMANSHIP

Our products are born from the expert hands of master artisans of Tuscan tanneries, guardians of knowledge that still today works and treats leather in a unique and completely natural way. Vegetable tanning, from which the celebrated Tuscan vacchetta is born, is a long and precious process, marked by ancient gestures and patience.

Here, through successive and delicate phases, the leather is freed from external hair, proteins, fats, mineral salts. It's a purification, a return to essence.y, style, or even provide a review. The purified leather is immersed in water for a long period, during which it receives natural tanning substances: tannin. Dyeing and greasing follow, to give color and softness. But it's in the dosage, in that secret alchemy that each tannery jealously guards, that the true difference lies. Formulas passed down from generation to generation, like a family heritage.

In the Middle Ages, a notary certified eight months of aging in the bottali before attesting to the quality of the process. Today technology has reduced the times, but the care and delicacy remain the same. Nature cannot be forced: it can only be accompanied.

Drying

The final phase is the messa a vento. Each hide is hung individually, left to breathe. This is how it acquires that flexibility and softness that will allow optimal processing, that will make it a faithful companion for years.

Those who choose vegetable-tanned leather choose a living material. Over time, it will acquire a deeper color, as if tanned by the sun's rays. It's not a defect: it's the magic of nature and man meeting. It's the promise that what is made well doesn't age, but matures. Like us.

LEATHER CARE

Vegetable-tanned leather is a living material that requires attention and care. With a few simple gestures, your MICHELANGELO products will accompany you for years, acquiring character and beauty over time.

Maintenance Instructions

In case of wetting,

dry immediately with a soft cloth, dabbing gently without rubbing. Fill the interior with paper to absorb residual moisture and let it dry naturally, away from heat sources.

Remember that leather is a natural material

small imperfections, grain variations and chromatic discontinuities are the characteristic that distinguishes it from imitation. They are signs of authenticity, not defects.

Do not overload the bag

excessive filling could deform it, compromising its original shape.

Avoid contact with perfumes and cosmetics

they can alter or stain the leather's color permanently.

Protect from direct sunlight

prolonged exposure can cause color fading.

Use the provided dust bag

to store the product when not in use, protecting it from dust and scratches.

Be careful with contact between different colors

avoid overlapping products of different shades. Dark color can migrate onto light color, causing irreparable stains.

For regular cleaning

use a soft cloth with cleansing milk or specific leather products, rubbing gently. For persistent stains, you can use small amounts of trichloroethylene, always performing a test on a hidden area first.

Never use abrasives or aggressive solvents

they could cause permanent and irreparable damage to the leather
